The new national team!
The delegates of the council evaluated the previous National Plan of Action. They focused mainly on the impacts, positives difficulties and challenges of the actions done by the base groups, district movements and the national movement. The co-ordinators of the unemployment and informal work presented the report of their action team. The delegates decided to continue these two sector actions and came up with means to overcome the challenges in the actions.
The National Secretary presented the work report of the national team for 2005 – 2007. After questions and discussions the delegates approved the report. The National Treasurer presented the Finance report for 2005 – 2007 and it was approved by the delegates.
The delegates adopted the new National Plan of Action and the Budget for 2007 – 2009. Then the delegates elected the new national team for the next two years to implement the national plan. The new national team consists of Amol (National President), Lawrence (National Secretary, Felix (National Treasurer), Robert Vins, Kattali and Gajendran (National Team Members)
Fr. Jose Vattakuzy gave a talk on the vision of the CBCI Commission for Labour for workers at various levels in India. He underlined the need of collaboration between YCW and CBCI commission for Labour. He also encouraged and motivated the delegates and the new national team to strive for better working and living conditions of all young workers. Finally Lawrence gave vote of thanks and the council came to a close with the YCW closing prayer.
